I would like to thank all of the city workers who helped setting up for the tree lighting and the trolley tour. Both were a great success and keep getting better each year. These are the finest workers around and take great pride in their work.
I would like to congratulate the Friends of South Amboy for the great effort in conducting the charity basketball games this past weekend in order to help out a lifelong resident and volunteer fireman, Ken Walczak, who is suffering from a severe illness. This non-profit organization is a credit to the community and another reason why this is a great city in which to live. I thank all of the members for all that they contribute. And we were treated to one of the most exciting finishes to a boys basketball game in a long time as Sayreville nipped South Amboy at the buzzer!
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Please also remember those that cannot be home for the holidays because they are defending our freedoms: our troops in the armed forces all over the world. May they be kept safe now and always.
Wishing all a very Happy Thanksgiving.
This past week another unthinkable event took place in Paris. We know that evil exists and there are evil people in the world. So to the good citizens of France we offer our prayers and resolve to fight those terrorists.
I have been informed by the owner that the clean-up of C-Town should begin this Wednesday, November 18th. I would like to thank all of our citizens for their patience for it was not an easy process with the fire investigation, the insurance company, and the court system.
Thank you to Ed Szatkowski for serving the people of South Amboy as a volunteer fireman for 50 years! A celebration in his honor was held this past Saturday at which I was privileged to present Ed with a proclaimation thanking him and his family for all that they have done volunteering their time and efforts for us.
