January 18, 2023The South Amboy Housing Authority is opening the waiting list for the Public Housing Program on 01/25/23 at 9:00AM until 3:00PM only for the first 100 applicants who are eligible for the adopted resident and working family preference who are in need of a two- or three-bedroom unit (only). This specifically means that the head of household or spouse must be a resident as defined in the Housing Authority’s Administrative Plan, which states that proof of residency is “a family who lives, works or who has been hired to work in the jurisdiction of the PHA”. The PHA’s jurisdiction is the City of South Amboy. Or can prove that they are employed, and can show proof of a minimum of twenty hours a week for the family member claiming the preference.
- All applicants must provide verification of the claimed resident preference prior to receiving an application.
- Applications are given out on a first come first serve basis limited to a maximum of 100 applications and the application process may end well before the 3:00pm deadline.
- All applicants must come in person and may receive only one application for which they must sign. Disabled persons may send a proxy to pick up an application. The proxy must have written authorization from the disabled applicant and may receive only one application for the specified disabled applicant.
- All applications must be completed and returned to the Housing Authority by 3:00PM on 02/1/23.
- Applications must be picked up at the Housing Authority Office located at 250 South Broadway, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
